The PARSEC Awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals who advance the Physician Assistant (PA) profession in Canada through education, mentorship, research, and leadership. These prestigious awards highlight the dedication and impact of educators, researchers, and advocates who shape the future of PAs, ensuring excellence in patient care and professional development.

PA Educator Award

The PA Educator Award recognizes individuals who have significantly advanced Physician Assistant education in Canada. Eligible nominees include PA program faculty, clinical preceptors, guest facilitators, and course instructors from diverse professional backgrounds, including PAs, physicians, and allied health professionals.

Nominations are assessed using competencies from the CAPA National Competency Profile (CanMEDS-PA), adapted for the PA educator role. The CAPA Board retains discretion to withhold the award if nominees do not meet established criteria.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be actively engaged in teaching PA students in clinical or academic settings

  • Cannot have received the award within the past five years

  • Cannot be a current CAPA Board Member

Nomination Process:

  • Nominations must come from current CAPA or PARSEC members

  • Self-nominations are not permitted

This award celebrates excellence in PA education and reinforces the community's role in recognizing outstanding contributors to the profession.
